A landscaper got into an argument as he looked for day laborers, shooting and killing a victim, police said. Now, he faces a murder charge.
This week, police in Farmington, New Mexico, announced the arrest of 21-year-old Guillermo Humberto Aguirre IV.
Around 6:30 p.m. on July 23, police responded to a reported shooting and stopped a vehicle Aguirre was driving. Two other people were in the car and they were questioned and released.
Investigators said Aguirre has a landscaping business and frequently hires individuals who panhandle in the area.
He went to a location to find workers when he encountered Brandon York, 43, according to Farmington police.
A confrontation between York and Aguirre ensued when the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim numerous times, police said. There was no word on what the argument was over.
Aguirre was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
