Man shot, killed by stray bullet on Bourbon Street. Woman accused of manslaughter.
A person inside a business on New Orleans's most well-known street was killed by a stray bullet and now a woman faces criminal charges.
Around 2 a.m. on March 20, New Orleans police responded to a shooting report at a business on Bourbon Street. When officers arrived, they found a man inside the business who had been shot.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to New Orleans police.
Officials have not released the victim's name.
Police detained Daphney D. Jackson at the scene and officers questioned her, according to New Orleans police. She was determined to be the alleged shooter and was arrested.
Officers charged Jackson with manslaughter, obstruction of justice and illegal use of a weapon. She was booked into Orleans Parish Justice Center.
