A murder suspect was shot and killed on his way to court, police say they arrested the alleged vigilante

A man has been arrested in connection to the slaying of a murder suspect, who was killed on his way to court.

On March 23, New Orleans police responded to an intersection for a shooting that left one person dead and another person injured.

When police arrived, they found a woman lying on the group with multiple gunshot wounds, according to New Orleans police. The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Officers also found a man with a gunshot wound to the head.

According to WVUE, the man was identified as Hollis Carter, 21. He was shot on the way to court for a hearing related to allegations he killed a student and another person in March 2021, the TV station reported.

Arrest

Carter was on bond in connection to the 2021 shooting when he was killed, according to WVUE.

On March 25, police announced the arrest of Bokio Johnson in connection to the shooting of Carter. Police did not release if Johnson was connected to the March 2021 shooting victims, But WVUE reported he is the father of one of the victims.

Bokio Johnson has been booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
