North Carolina man arrested nine years after alleged murder, cops say

A North Carolina man has been arrested nine years after a shooting that left one man dead, police said.
On Nov. 5, 2013, just before 1:30 p.m., James Arthur Franklin and two other people were in a parked vehicle in the 200 block of East Capitola Avenue in Kinston, North Carolina, according to Kinston police.
Witnesses said they saw two people standing in the backyard of a residence on North McLewean Street shooting toward the vehicle, according to police
All three people in the vehicle were shot, and Franklin died at the scene, police noted.
On Jan. 26, members of the Kinston Police department obtained a murder warrant for Carlos Fields, 32, for his involvement in the murder.
Fields was arrested on Feb. 22 by members of the United States Marshals in Hookerton, North Carolina. He is being held in jail without bond.
Investigators have not said how they identified Fields nine years after the killing as a suspect. They also did not release a motive for the shooting.
