North Carolina woman shot and killed on Thanksgiving, her neighbor is being accused of murder
A woman was shot and killed by her neighbor on Thanksgiving, police in North Carolina said.
Daniel James Moxley, 48, has now been charged in connection to the incident.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 25, the Gaston County police responded to a home in Stanley, North Carolina, for a reported shooting. Inside the residence, officers found Kathy Smith, 58, dead from a gunshot wound, according to Gaston County police.
Officers determined Moxley was the suspect in her killing, and he was arrested. Moxley and Smith were neighbors.
Investigators did not release what led to the shooting.
Moxley was charged with first-degree murder and is being held in Gaston County jail without bond.
