A gunfight at the North Carolina bar early on May 29 left one man dead and another in critical condition, according to Asheville Citizen Times.
Keith Larnel Blair, 31, was killed and two others were injured in the shooting reported around 1 a.m., where police reportedly found over 30 shell casings outside a bar in Asheville, North Carolina.
Seven vehicles in the parking lot were also hit. Reports said the shooting caused panicked patrons to hide in bathrooms, lying flat on the floor, while employees took shelter in their offices.
The Citizen Times released a partial transcript of the 911 calls from the chaos.
“I’m at the Westville Pub, there’s been a s*** ton of, uh, gunshots – a lot of gunfire,” the caller reportedly said. When the dispatcher asks how many gunshots he heard, he answers “A s*** ton, I mean, a f*** ton.”
One victim was critically injured, and another sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Asheville Police released photos of two seemingly armed men asking for help identifying the suspects on June 4.
One of the suspects, Jhakar Horace Davis, 18, was arrested on July 8 and charged with carrying a weapon into an establishment where alcoholic beverages are sold and consumed, going armed to the terror of people, and discharging a firearm in city limits. He is not currently facing homicide charges.
He was released from jail after posting $60,000 bond.
"Keith Blair did not deserve to die. If you know something, if you want to prevent future violence and death, you need to come forward," Asheville Police Capt. Joe Silberman told WLOS 13 News.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact (828) 252-1110.
