Shooting leaves teenager dead in NC, two other kids in the hospital. Police arrest two suspects.
Two suspects have been arrested in connection to a shooting that left a teenager dead and two other children in the hospital, police said.
Around 8:45 p.m. on Jan. 26, police in Kinston, North Carolina, responded to a person who had been shot. When officers arrived, they found three boys who were injured.
Michael Mills, 14, died at the scene from his injuries, according to Kinston police.
Aavonta Bethea, 13, and Izaah Foye, 17, were both taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.
Investigators have not said what led to the shooting, but this week announced the arrest of two suspects. Malik Dyshaun Bryant, 24, was charged with an open county of murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder. He is being held without bond in jail.
Police also arrested Maleak Smith, 19, and he was charged with murder and two counts of murder. He is being held in jail without bond.
