Man Ran For Help After Being Stabbed, But Collapsed And Died A Short Time Later, Police Said
Moments after a man was stabbed, he ran to an apartment to ask for help but collapsed in the doorway.
Now, a woman faces a homicide charge in connection to the fatal attack.
On March 28, police in Statesville, North Carolina, responded to a stabbing at an apartment complex. The victim, Charles Alexander Barber, ran to another apartment to ask for help.
But Barber collapsed in the doorway and was pronounced dead a short time later, according to Statesville police.
Police identified Jessie Owenby as a suspect, and she was arrested at the scene.
Officers have not said how she knew the victim.
Owenby was charged with homicide and is being held in the Iredell County jail without bond. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
