Caregiver at memory care facility allegedly attack patient, who died weeks later, cops say
A caregiver at a memory care center is under arrest after she allegedly assaulted a patient who later died, police said.
Rachel W. Cooper, 59, was arrested on Aug. 18 in connection to an Aug. 3 incident, police in Fargo, North Dakota, announced.
On Aug. 3, officers responded to the Maple View Memory Care facility for a report of an assault by a caregiver, according to Fargo police. Cooper was identified as the caregiver.
She was arrested on Aug. 18 and charged with endangering a vulnerable adult.

Later that same day as the arrest, Fargo police said the victim died. An autopsy is scheduled to determine if injuries from the alleged assault played a part in the death.
The state’s attorney office will decide whether to change the charges, police said.
Cooper is being held in Cass County jail. The name and age of the victim has not been released.
