The co-owner of a “clothing optional” campground in Pennsylvania was arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a child 10 years ago while on the resort grounds, police say.
On Jan. 10, police say 54-year-old Patrick Gremling was charged with corruption of minors, indecent assault and indecent assault of a child under the age of 13, officials said.
According to authorities, the case involves an incident that took place in November 2011 at The Woods camping resort in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains.
The accuser, who is now an adult, talked with police on Jan. 7 and disclosed the assaults to investigators.
Officials said the camping resort is a membership-only, LGBTQIA+ themed, clothing-optional resort and is only open May through October. Court records show Gremling is listed as a co-owner of the resort, the Lehigh Valley Live reported.
When the alleged assault took place, police said the resort was closed for the season. The accuser was 11 years old at the time and helped Gremling winterize the campground. They were both planning on staying the night.
The accuser stated Gremling molested them that night, as well as a similar assault two years earlier at a residence in New Jersey, police said.
After the assault, the accuser said Gremling asked them to never tell anyone about what had happened, Leigh Valley Live reported.
After talking with the accuser on Jan. 7, officials listened to a call between the accuser and Gremling. The call lasted 32 minutes and police said Gremling made several admissions during the call.
Gremling was arrested but was released after posting $50,000 bail, authorities said.
