A shooting left one person dead in New York and police said the suspect quickly lawyered up without providing details.
Last week, police in Stony Point, New York, announced they charged 21-year-old Javier Medina Jr. with second-degree murder.
He was arrested in connection to a fatal Sept. 17 shooting. Around 11:35 p.m., police got a call that a victim had been shot and was bleeding.
Authorities responded and found 47-year-old Jason Coldwell dead at the scene, according to police.
Medina remained at the scene as police arrived but provided no statement, police said. He instead asked for a lawyer. Three witnesses provided statement but police did not say what allegedly led to the murder.
Medina is being held in a New York jail without bond.
