New York Teacher Accused Of Having Relationship With Student That Turned To Sexual Violence, Intimidation: Police

A high school teacher in New York is accused of having a relationship with a 17-year-old student that escalated into sexual violence and intimidation, according to police.
Last week, police in Yonkers, New York, arrested James Korwatch, 49, in connection to the case. He was a carpentry teacher at a high school in the area.
He faces several charges, including criminal sexual acts 1.
Police said Korwatch had a relationship with the teenage student that was physical and turned to sexual violence. There was also verbal intimidation and coercion.
But investigators did not reveal any other details about the case.
