A 2-month-old Ohio baby died from “significant head trauma,” and now police say her 30-year-old father has been charged with her murder.
According to authorities, Lavon Stewart, 30, purposely caused the death of Evelyn Craft on June 13.
Court documents said police have charged Stewart “based on the investigation by detectives that Stewart caused significant head trauma to the 2-month-old victim, resulting in her death.”
FOX19 NOW reported Stewart’s neighbors stated Craft was his daughter, but Cincinnati police have not confirmed the relationship. Police also didn't detail how the baby was injured on any possible motive for the alleged assault.
Stewart is being held on one count of murder at the Hamilton County Justice Center, authorities said.
His bond was set at $1 million, officials said.
