Man Stabbed His Father To Death In Ohio, Police said. But, Authorities Decline To Reveal Motive.
A man is accused of stabbing his father to death, but police are mum on why he allegedly turned to murder.
The Miami County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio announced on May 17 that it charged Mark J. Mayor, 47, with murder and felonious assault. He is being held in jail on $1.5 million bond.
Around 5:30 p.m., On May 16, deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in Newton Township, Ohio. When deputies arrived, they found a man with and a stab wound to the chest.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and identified as David Mayor, 72, who lived at the home, according to the sheriff’s office.
Mark Mayor was arrested at the scene. He is the son of the victim and lived at the same home, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators also said Mark Mayor was the one who placed the initial 911 calls.
But authorities have not released a possible motive for the alleged stabbing.
