An Ohio man was arrested after he allegedly got into an altercation with his daughter’s boyfriend about dirt bike parts, pulled out a gun and shot him, according to police.
Around 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 16, officers responded to an area in Russellville after receiving a report about a man who had been shot in the foot, according to the Broan County Sheriff’s Office.
Police located the victim, Cody Henderson, 28, and he told them he was in an “altercation" that started "over a disagreement over bike parts,” officials said.
Authorities said Henderson and the suspect, identified as 52-year-old Bruce Haddix, got into a physical fight before Haddix allegedly pulled out a 9 mm handgun and “chased Mr. Henderson to his vehicle” outside Haddix’s home.
While he was chasing him, Haddix allegedly shot multiple rounds toward Henderson and struck his car before the victim fled on foot, police said.
Haddix went inside his home and a hostage negotiator was called in, officials said.
Around 4:15 a.m., Haddix exited the residence and officials took him into custody.
Haddix was booked into the Brown County Jail. He faces a charge of felonious assault, authorities said.
He is being held on a $75,000 bond.
