Snack Attack: Ohio Suspect Accused of Shooting in Face Man Who Denied His Request for Potato Chips, Police Say

A man in Ohio has been arrested after he allegedly shot another person in the face during an argument over potato chips, according to authorities.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 28, officers responded to the Akron City Hospital after receiving a report about a shooting victim, the Akron Police Department wrote in a crime report.
At the hospital, police spoke with the 31-year-old victim, whose identity they have not released.
The victim said he was in his vehicle at Lusty’s Adventure in Akron when the suspect, later identified as 42-year-old Melvin Wright by WOIO-TV, approached him and shot him in the face.
The victim was able to drive himself to the hospital for treatment.
According to the Akron Beacon Journal, Wright was upset after he allegedly asked the victim for some of his potato chips. The victim refused, and the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and shot him, according to police.

Police identified Wright as a person of interest. On Nov. 29, officers located him exiting a bus and arrested him. He was booked into the Summit County Jail on charges of felonious assault, and weapons under disability, authorities said.
According to officials, Wright allegedly was in possession of a gun at the time of his arrest.
