A mother delayed getting care for her daughter leading to her death and now police are hunting for the suspect, authorities said.
Police say they are searching for Bryce Foster, 26, according to Local 12.
Police say Foster failed to get her daughter, Kaysen Blackshear, 5, proper care after recognizing that the girl was in medical distress on July 17, 2021, Local 12 reported.
Instead of calling 911, Foster allegedly performed CPR on Kaysen for several hours and tried home remedies at their Springdale, Ohio residence, according to Local 12.
The mom finally drove Kaysen to Liberty Children’s Hospital, Local 12 reported. Kaysen was already in full cardiac arrest and died a few days later.
The coroner’s findings indicated the delay in getting Kaysen the right medical care caused her death, Local 12 reported.
While police were also investigating some injuries to Kaysen’s face, back and a chipped tooth, they say there’s no indication they played a role in her death, according to Local 12.
Foster is charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangering, Local 12 reported. Anyone with information is asked to call Springdale Police at (513) 346-5760.
