A 25-year-old Ohio man was caring for a group of toddlers when a 2-year-old became unconscious in a plastic bag. Police say they have charged the adult with murder in connection to the child's death.
On June 11, Ronald Hicks Jr., 25, was watching a group of children at his girlfriend’s home, police said.
According to Hicks, he said he was cleaning the house when the children became unruly, so he told them to go upstairs.
After realizing it was quiet, Hicks said he went up to check on them and he found 2-year-old Ryan Mounts laying on a bed with a plastic bag over his head.
Police said the child was unconscious, breathing slowly and had a fast heartbeat.
Fox 8 reported the child had blood on his lip and was starting to turn blue.

Hicks ripped the bag off the child and began doing CPR while he called 911, according to authorities.
Mounts was taken to a local hospital, but he died the next day, police said.
It was determined Mounts had multiple injuries, including a fractured neck and head trauma and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide, officials said.
None of the other three children inside the home at the time were hurt, but police continue to investigate the incident.
Hicks was initially charged with felonious assault but now faces murder charges, police said.
He is being held on a $500,000 bond and his case has been bound over so it can be presented to the grand jury, authorities said.
