A man walked into an Ohio police station to say he participated in a murder and dismembered a victim, authorities said.
On Sept. 24, John Havens, 34, went into the Middletown Division of Police lobby and asked to speak with an officer.
Havens then gave detailed information about a homicide at a home on Stone Path Drive, police said. Havens also identified 59-year-old Bonnie Marie Vaughn as a co-defendant. Havens said she shot and killed the victim.
He then dismembered the body.
Police went to the home and found blood and the dismembered remains. The victim’s name has not been released.
Vaughn left before police arrived and was later arrested. She was charged with murder. Havens was charged with tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.
