Teen accused of gunning down father of two in Ohio
An 18-year-old has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of a father in late October, police said.
On Halloween, police in Columbus, Ohio, responded to Rabbit Hill Lane and found the victim lying in the road with gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as Nazeer Winton, 21, according to Columbus police.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries, according to police.
Investigators said they were unsure what led to the shooting, but they took evidence from the scene.
Last week, police said they arrested Othman Abdu, 18, in connection to the homicide. Investigators did not say if Abdu knew Winton before the encounter.
Winton was a father to a 1-year-old girl and a 2-month old boy, family members told WSYX.
"I don't even know how to put into words how painful it is to have somebody else rip your child from you," Winton's mother Candace Arline told the news station.
