A man’s rotting corpse was found in a garage, and now police said they made an arrest in the case.
Last week, police in the Dayton, Ohio, area arrested Jeremy Heath VanVoorhis, 47, in connection to the case. He faces several charges, including two counts of murder, according to the Dayton Daily News.
Investigators said that around July 15, VanVoorhis shot and killed 44-year-old Clinton James Pierce. It’s unclear how the two men knew each other.
VanVoorhis then hit the victim’s body under flooring materials and other items in a detached garage, according to the Daily News.
On Aug. 18, police responded to the home after a woman reported a bad smell coming from the garage, the Daily News noted.
Officers searched and found the decomposed remains of Pierce, according to the report.
Investigators have not released a motive in the case.
