An Ohio woman died from injuries sustained in a house fire in February and now police say her daughter has been charged with arson and murder.
On Feb. 2, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office said Fire and EMS were sent to a residence in Georgetown, Ohio, due to a house fire.
At the time, 53-year-old Beth Lang was rescued from the residence and taken to a local hospital, police said.
On Feb. 14, Lang died from the injuries she sustained from the fire, officials said.
An investigation took place and on Sept. 13, the victim’s 27-year-old daughter, Alisha Marie Lang, was arrested and charged with murder, first- and second-degree aggravated arson, police said.
Investigators have not released why they think Alisha Lang intentionally killed her mom or set the home on fire.
Alisha Lang was booked and is currently incarcerated at the Brown County Jail, authorities said.
