A man in Oklahoma is accused of shooting a person who tried to get into his tent, then waiting to call 911, police said.
Around 5 a.m. on Aug. 21, police in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, responded to a shooting on South Brookline Street.
The caller, Tony Ivers, said a person was trying to get into his tent, according to police.
It was later determined the victim, whose name has not been released, tried to get in the tent and was shot once by Ivers, according to police. But authorities said Ivers waited a “substantial period” before calling 911.
When he did, police went to the scene and found the victim dead.
Ivers has now been charged with first-degree murder.
