A woman was found lying next to a car on an Arkansas highway and police say an Oklahoma doctor has been arrested and charged in connection to her murder.
Around 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 11, the Arkansas State Police said troopers responded to a report of a woman in need of medical assistance.
According to authorities, 37-year-old Moria Kinsey was found lying outside a vehicle parked alongside U.S. Highway 65.
Police said they found Dr. Tyler Tait, 34, near the vehicle.
At the time, Kinsey was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, officials said.
Her body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy to be conducted to determine the manner and cause of her death, authorities said.
Officials said Tait and Kinsey were traveling from Mississippi and, after examining the scene, they found evidence of a physical altercation that happened inside the vehicle.
Police interviewed Tait during the evening of Oct. 11 and after consulting with Thomas Deen, 10th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney, Tait was arrested.
Tait was booked into the Chicot County Jail and was charged with first-degree murder, police said.
