An Oregon man is accused of stabbing one man, fleeing the scene and stabbing another person two hours later, police said.
Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the scene of an assault with a weapon call on April 10 around 1 p.m., according to Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The caller reported that 33-year-old Artemio Guzman-Olvera was stabbed by a family member, police said.
When police arrived, deputies found Guzman-Olvera with life-threatening injuries and tried to give him first aid. Medical personnel arrived on the scene and transported him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
Police said the suspect was identified as 26-year-old Edi Villalobos, who fled from the scene in a vehicle.
About two hours later, around 3:30 p.m., the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office responded to an assault with a weapon call at an apartment complex, authorities said.
According to the caller, 26-year-old Saul Antonio Ramirez Aguirre was stabbed by Villalobos, who then fled the scene again in a vehicle.
The second stabbing victim was taken to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition, police said.
At 4:07 p.m., police found the vehicle driven by Villalobos. Officers converged on the area and a pursuit ensued, police said.
Villalobos stopped the vehicle and tried to run away, according to authorities. With the assistance of multiple police forces, Villalobos was arrested soon after, police said.
Villalobos was booked into jail on a murder charge. Additional charges are pending, police said.
