Arizona Man Accused Of Fatally Shooting Victim At Party Who Asked To See His Gun
A party at an apartment in Arizona turned deadly after a 20-year-old fatally shot a man in the early morning hours, authorities said.
Around 5:20 a.m. on Nov. 6, police in Mesa responding to a report of a shooting located Stephen Benito Jacobo suffering a gunshot wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, a friend of the victim claimed the suspect, Joe Jetha Rim, got into an argument with Jacobo shortly before the slaying, AZ Family reported.
The witness told officers Rim became upset at Jacobo and accused him of being in his personal space after Jacobo asked about his gun, court documents obtained by the outlet show.
The documents state rim allegedly pulled out the weapon and was waiving it around, asking Jacobo, “You want to see what I got?”
He then allegedly shot the gun, according to the documents.
Rim was arrested after he was pulled over in Phoenix around 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 10.
Authorities charged him with second-degree murder, and he was being held in lieu of a $1 million bond.
