She Left Her Baby In The Bathtub Alone For 20 Minutes. She'll Spend Less Than 15 Years Behind Bars For The Infant's Murder.
A mom left her baby unattended for 20 minutes to drown in a bathtub while she got the other kids ready for school.
Now, she’ll spend less than 15 years in prison.
Recently, Amy Manning pleaded guilty in a Pennsylvania court to third-degree murder for killing her 4-month-old baby. She was sentenced to seven to 14 years in prison, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.
The case against co-defendant David Meadows remains ongoing.
On May 20, 2021, Pennsylvania police responded to a motel in Paradise, Pennsylvania, for a report of a dead baby. Both Manning and Meadows met police in the parking lot and identified themselves as the victim’s parents.

The two lived at the motel with the baby and two other children. While Manning got the children ready for school, and Meadows was playing video games, the baby was left unattended in the tub, according to prosecutors.
The water was left running and investigators said the baby was left in the tub for at least 20 minutes.
Both parents said they left the baby unattended every day, despite being told previously about the dangers of doing that, prosecutors noted.
The baby was taken to the hospital and ultimately pronounced dead, prosecutors noted. The cause of death was drowning.
Manning fled the area after the incident and went to Tennessee, where she was arrested by police in the Nashville area.
Both parents were charged with criminal homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.
