A 33-year-old patient at a Pennsylvania hospital assaulted the staff and urinated in the hallway, police said.
On June 9, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Police and Security staff received two calls needing immediate help for a combative person in the facility, according to authorities.
Police arrived and found Beau Beisswanger, 33, in a hallway with his penis exposed and peeing on the floor, authorities said.
Police also said as Beisswanger was peeing on the floor, there were children present in the room.
Police talked with staff and determined Beisswanger attempted to punch several nurses with a closed fist and verbally assaulted the staff, officials said.
A second call was made to police later that night as a nurse attempted to change an IV in Beisswagner’s room, police said.
At the time, the patient was asleep on a bed when the nurse attempted to remove the IV, but he woke up as she leaned over him and he took a swing at her with a closed fist, injuring her finger, authorities said.
Beisswanger was arrested and has been charged with several offenses, including three counts of felony aggravated assault and third-degree felony terroristic threats, NorthcentralPA.com reported.
He is currently being held at the Lycoming County Prison on $75,000 bail, officials said.
