A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to life in prison after fatally stabbing and running over his former coworker with his car.
On April 20, Dominique Isaac Harris, 31, was convicted of first-degree murder and possession of an instrument of crime, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office announced.
The murder occurred when 54-year-old Michael Pickens was ending his shift in the early hours of March 30, 2022. Pickens was taking out the trash at a Wendy’s restaurant in Bensalem when he was attacked by Harris, who had been waiting for him.
Harris and Pickens used to work together at the Wendy’s restaurant, but Harris was fired two months earlier after getting into a fight with Pickens, authorities said.
The attack on Pickens lasted several minutes, as Harris was chasing Pickens down the street and eventually caught up with him in the parking lot of a nearby beverage store. Pickens tried to fight off Harris, who repeatedly stabbed the victim.
Harris then fled the scene, but he returned eight minutes later and ran over Pickens twice with his vehicle, officials said. Harris then got out of his vehicle, loaded Pickens into the backseat and dumped his body a few miles away.

An autopsy was completed on Pickens and officials said he was stabbed 46 times.
During his sentencing, Common Pleas Judge Raymond F. McHugh told Harris, “What you did was ruthless, it was unnecessary, and it was criminal.”
