A Pennsylvania woman was found in a field with gunshot wounds to her head and now police say a man has been arrested in connection to her murder.
Around 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 6, police said 46-year-old Sharon Benyo was found dead in a field by utility workers in Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
The area was quickly secured, as officials were able to process the area for evidence, according to authorities.
An autopsy was completed by the Beaver County Coroner’s Office and it showed Benyo died from gunshot wounds to her head, officials said.
Police added the gunshot wounds were to the back of Benyo’s head.
Pennsylvania State Police investigated and gathered enough information to arrest 68-year-old John Westley Johnson Jr. in connection to the murder of Benyo, WPXI reported.
Police have not said how Johnson knew the victim or what led to the shooting.
Police said Johnson was charged with homicide and will be held at the Beaver County Jail until his court date.
