A woman in Pennsylvania is spending the rest of her life behind bars after she fatally poisoned her husband, according to authorities.

As Front Page Detectives previously reported, Myrle Miller, 79, was found guilty in April 2023 on all counts against her, including first-degree murder for the death of her husband John Nichols.

In 2018, Miller gave her husband a lethal dose of her heart medication at their home near Mifflinburg.

During the trial, prosecutors argued that Miller also drained her husband’s bank accounts.

An investigator with the Union Snyder Area Agency on Aging also testified during the trial, saying Nichols believed he had hundreds of thousands of dollars in the bank when in reality, those accounts were either closed or overdrawn.

Miller’s son also testified, saying his mother would give him cash over the years as long as he did not tell Nichols.

Miller’s attorneys argued that Nichols gave her permission to sign those checks and that his death was an accident.

However, the jury disagreed after deliberating for only 50 minutes.

Miller was recently sentenced to life in prison.

Miller has been accused of marital misconduct before. She was charged with adding poison to her first husband's drinks in 1988, but a jury acquitted her of attempted murder.

Then there's the mystery of Miller's grandson. Corey Edkin disappeared from his Union County home in 1986, when he was 2.

Edkin never has been found, but investigators said last fall they thought a family member was behind his disappearance.
