‘I Feel A Little Stupid’: Elderly Theft Victims Targeted By Pair Posing As Pest Control Workers, Police Say
A Florida woman and her nephew are accused of posing as pest control workers to gain access to elderly victims’ homes in order to steal their valuables, authorities said.
The Cape Coral Police Department have confirmed Laura Frank, 39, and her 30-year-old nephew, Sean Frank, were arrested last month after the pair allegedly targeted senior citizens while going door to door purportedly representing a pest control business, WFTX reported.
The pair were arrested in Manatee County and accused of scamming victims statewide, according to the station.

Manatee County deputies said the two suspects allegedly stole around $2,000 worth of jewelry from the Cape Coral condo of Maysha Nash.
“I feel a little stupid at times when I think about letting them in,” Nash told WINK-TV. “And then I also feel a sentimental attachment to the jewelry that I had. Some of it was my mother’s. And I was going to pass it down to my children, of course.”
Both Laura and Sean Frank were charged with theft from persons 65 years of age or older, coordinating with others in thefts over $3,000, and obstruction.
Laura Frank bonded out of jail the day after her arrest, while Sean Frank remains behind bars.
