A Pennsylvania man has been arrested after he allegedly killed his 7-week-old son by throwing him down the stairs.
Cory Neidert, 31, surrendered himself to Allegheny County Sheriff's Office deputies around 7 p.m. on Jan. 10.
On Feb.1, 2020, Neidert’s 7-week-old son, Luca, died unexpectedly, according to the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office.
The following day, an autopsy of the infant revealed the manner of death was blunt force trauma to the head, consistent with being tossed or thrown down a flight of steps, according to the sheriff's office.
After interviewing the mother, Neidert and several others, authorities believed to have enough information relating to the crime to charge Neidert with the homicide of his infant child.
Neidert has been charged with criminal homicide, endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person, according to the sheriff's office.
Neidert was booked in to the Allegheny County Jail, awaiting arraignment on his charges.
