Houston Police K9 Chasing Robbery Suspect Discovers Abandoned Puppy Tied Up in Woods, Guides Handler to Scene
A puppy that was left tied up in the woods was rescued by a K9 dog that spotted him while chasing down a robbery suspect in Houston, police said.
After "finding, tasting, and arresting" a robbery suspect on April 22, K9 Ronin led his handler back to rescue an abandoned puppy, the Houston Police Officer's Union said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
Photos shared by the officer's union show the black and white pup looking fearful under some brush in the woods. It can be seen tied to an overturned boxspring.
K9 Ronin's rescue "was very lucky for the puppy, as some scumbag had tied him to an old box spring and left him to die in the woods," the officer's union said.
"K9 Ronin had his officer take the puppy home, clean him up, and the puppy is in great spirits," the union said. Another photo shows the puppy nestled in a cardboard box next to a bed, where K9 Ronin can be seen watching over him.
The union is now working to find a forever home for the puppy, and interested parties can comment on their post on X to inquire.
