A Portland, Oregon, man was under investigation for child rape when he said he could prove his innocence. He gave police access to his phone and they found videos of him having sex with a dog and a dead deer, police said.
According to authorities, 32-year-old Damon J. Cervantes is accused of raping a 3-year-old child he was supposed to be babysitting on Sept. 25.
Court documents state two other young children were present at the time of the incident and gave great detail to another adult on that day and again later on to crisis responders, per KOIN. The children said Cervantes told them to “keep it a secret.”
On Sept. 28, Cervantes agreed to speak to police and told officers the children were lying and his cell phone usage would show he was busy at the time the incident took place, police said.
KOIN reported, “(Cervantes) showed some screen captures that he had taken to support his contention.”

Police downloaded a copy of his cell phone during the interview. Detectives searched the phone and found two videos — one showing Cervantes having sex with a pit bull and the other showing Cervantes having sex with a “recently deceased or heavily sedated deer.
According to the owner of the dog, Cervantes’ behavior around kids has always “weirded him out,” KOIN reported. Cervantes was asked to watch his dog and the owner said the dog refused to eat for almost a week after being with the suspect.
Cervantes now faces a number of sex crime charges, including first-degree rape, first-degree sex abuse, first-degree sodomy, sexual assault of an animal and luring a minor, officials said.
He was arrested and is being held on $1.5 million bond, KOIN reported.
