A botched deal for pot ended with a woman dead and two suspects in handcuffs. Police in York, Pennsylvania, are searching for their third suspect in the killing.
On May 3, Ryan Strada, 20, Nicholas Strada, 19, and Oscar Cook, 19, allegedly broke into the victim’s home, according to the York City Police Department.
Cook allegedly orchestrated the robbery, according to FOX 43. Police say the suspects knew that a man at the home was in possession of a pound of marijuana taken from one of the other suspects.
The suspects planned to get the marijuana back by robbing the resident, according to police.
Whispering Wind Bear Spirit, 41, was in the home at the time of the robbery and was shot in the torso while trying to force the suspects to leave, according to FOX 43.
She was transported to an area hospital, where she died during surgery.
Police did not say which suspect shot Bear Spirit when they announced the charges.
Ryan Strada was taken into custody on May 13 by York City Police and U.S. Marshals. He was charged with criminal homicide, robbery and burglary.
Cook was arrested earlier this week and was charged with robbery, burglary and conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary.
Nicholas Strada has been charged with the same offenses, but is still at large. Anyone with information on Nicholas Strada's location is encouraged to contact the York City Police Department at (717) 846-1234.
