Purdue Student Found Dead In His Dorm Room, Roommate Accused Of Murder

An Indiana college student was killed in his dorm room on Oct. 5, and his roommate is in custody, according to reports.
Varun Manish Chheda, a senior at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, was found dead in his room at McCutcheon Hall, according to ABC News. The suspect called 911 to report the incident around 12:45 a.m.
Gji Min Sha, 22, was in custody and facing a murder charge in connection to the death, according to ABC News.

He is an international student from Korea.
Purdue University Chief of Police Lesley Weite described the attack as unprovoked, according to the report. The victim died from sharp force traumatic injuries, officials said.
“This is as tragic an event as we can imagine happening on our campus and our hearts and thoughts go out to all of those affected by this terrible event,” Purdue President Mitch Daniels said in a statement.
