Paranoid Precautions: Putin Installs 'Invisible Guards,' Wears Bulletproof Vest Amid Assassination Attempt Fears
Reports indicate that Vladimir Putin fears an attempt on his life, with claims suggesting the paranoid Russian leader now wears a bulletproof vest and is surrounded by “invisible guards.”
Putin has multiple adversaries, from Ukrainian allies and Islamic terrorists to political opponents.
The Russian leader's growing anxiety has led to a significant escalation in already stringent security measures amid the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, according to The Moscow Times.
The outlet highlights how Russia's special services were "rattled" by the 2022 assassination of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and the recent attempt on Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico’s life.
These incidents have prompted further enhancements to Putin’s security. One Russian official noted, “The Kremlin takes Vladimir Putin’s security very seriously. He is protected by a whole army of visible and invisible guards.”
The report claims that the 71-year-old Putin has been wearing bulletproof clothing at outdoor events “since at least 2023” based on the strong recommendations of the Presidential Security Service (SBP), a division of the Federal Guard Service (FSO).

It's believed that Putin was wearing body armor under his coat during this year’s World War II Victory Day celebration.
The official noted, “This year on May 9, the chief [Putin] was clearly wearing concealed body armor during the parade. And that precaution, I think, is necessary.”
