Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly instructed scientists to develop anti-aging treatments in an effort to maintain his grip on power indefinitely.

The 71-year-old leader, who is known for his fondness for Botox, is said to be deeply interested in anti-aging techniques that could keep him looking youthful and energetic, The Sun reported.

According to reports, Russian scientists have been ordered to submit information on their latest research aimed at combating aging. A letter from the Russian Health Ministry has demanded that researchers provide updates on their progress in reversing the aging process, as reported by Meduza.

The directive, which has reportedly left many medical researchers in Russia stunned, is believed to have been issued on Putin's behalf as he seeks to extend his lifespan as much as possible.

A source at Russia's national medical research center revealed, "We were asked to urgently send all our developments within one day. Orders came from the big boss [Putin], and health officials rushed to implement it as soon as possible."

Scientists were instructed to submit proposals for reducing cell deterioration, preventing cognitive and sensory impairment, correcting immune system deficiencies and exploring new medical technologies based on bioprinting.

One prominent figure in this initiative is Mikhail Kovalchuk, 77, who is believed to be leading the development of these anti-aging techniques. Kovalchuk, a known conspiracy theorist, has long promoted the idea of creating a "Russian genome."

Additionally, Putin's daughter Maria Vorontsova, 39, an endocrinologist, is also thought to be involved in the quest for extending life.

Earlier this year, Putin announced a new national project focused on "preserving the health" of Russian citizens, with one of its programs aimed at combating aging to save 175,000 lives by 2030.

Putin had a long-time anti-aging advisor, Professor Vladimir Khavinson, who passed away earlier this year. Khavinson, the former director of the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, claimed to have been working on methods to extend human life to 110 or 120 years by slowing down the aging process. He had previously assisted three former Kremlin leaders: Leonid Brezhnev, Yuri Andropov and Boris Yeltsin.

Putin's drastically changing appearance over the years has led to speculation about his use of cosmetic procedures. Experts believe the former spy regularly uses Botox and cheek fillers to maintain his image, fueling his search for eternal youth.

Observers have noted significant changes in his appearance, prompting questions about his overall health. Recent public appearances have shown Putin appearing short of breath, stumbling over his words or looking fatigued.

Keir Giles, a Russia expert at Chatham House, said that Putin's health appears to fluctuate. "If you watch Putin closely, it's hard to avoid the suspicion that often some of the appearances you're seeing are not, in fact, the same person," he told The Sun. "You also notice the trends in his health over time…There are some times when he looks really quite frail, bloated, puffy, shaking, having to grip onto the table and only giving very short five-minute speeches, even on major public events. And then there are times when he appears to bounce back as a much healthier individual who is standing up and speaking for 40 minutes.”

British historian Professor Anthony Glees has also expressed doubts about Putin's public image, suggesting that the Russian leader might be using body doubles and relying on advanced Russian medical science.

"I have to say, Putin remains a man of mystery to me," Glees said. "I mean from time to time I've commented on his cheeks being puffed up. I'm convinced that he has body doubles. Putin is very interested in avatars and all that stuff, and we don't know if the pictures that we're being shown of Putin are actually pictures of Putin."
