World War III Threat Rises: Putin Warns ‘Anywhere’ Fair Game for Attack if Ukraine Fires Weapons into Russia
Vladimir Putin recently threatened to strike British targets "anywhere" if United Kingdom weapons supplied to Ukraine are used to attack Russia.
The dire warning comes as Western missiles may soon extend their reach beyond Ukraine's borders.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova made the announcement, reiterating a previous warning issued after British Foreign Secretary David Cameron stated that Ukraine had the right to use weapons provided by the UK to hit targets within Russia, The Sun reported.
Cameron, the former Prime Minister, also declared new British military aid for Ukraine, emphasizing that Kyiv would decide how to utilize the UK-supplied weapons.
The declaration prompted outrage in Moscow, with Putin condemning Cameron's remarks as "dangerous and worrying." Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused Cameron’s statements of endangering European security architecture, calling it a direct escalation.
The UK's Chief of Defence Staff has indicated that Ukraine will increase long-range strikes inside Russia, supported by the influx of new weapons worth billions.

Kiselyov, who heads Russia’s largest propaganda network, claimed Putin would deploy his Satan-2 and other nuclear missiles in response to any Western attempt to strategically defeat Russia. Earlier this month, Putin ordered tactical nuclear weapons tests as a stark warning to the West.
These threats come amid escalating fears of an all-out war with NATO, as the Kremlin cautions that continued Western support for Ukraine could lead to a "worldwide catastrophe."
The Russian defense ministry suggested that recent drills, involving land, air and sea preparations, are in response to pledges of support from the US, UK and France, especially after French President Emmanuel Macron announced he would send troops to Ukraine if Russia breached the frontline.
