Top of Putin’s Hit List? Top Russian Doctor Vanishes After Writing Bizarre Goodbye Letter

Viktor Trukhin, the former vaccine chief and director of the St. Petersburg Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums, has not been seen for at least five days, according to sources.

As reported by RadarOnline.com, Trukhin, who is said to know confidential medical information about Russian President Vladimir Putin, was dismissed from his role due to alleged participation in a large-scale fraud scandal. The abrupt nature of his disappearance has sparked speculation about its motives, prompting authorities to initiate a search for Putin's prominent physician.

Trukhin was allegedly last seen by his daughter on Sept. 3, just one day before the Federal Medical Biological Agency (FMBA) terminated his employment. Trukhin wrote a goodbye letter to the institute’s staff, expressing concerns about the future of the enterprise.

Trukhin wrote, "We have created an enterprise that is unique for our country, but its complexity is precisely the Achilles heel that can affect the future in the most unexpected way. I hope this will not happen, and the institute will retain its unique competencies and specialists who today constitute its essence and spirit."

The details regarding Trukhin's disappearance remain shrouded in mystery. Although his WhatsApp and Telegram applications briefly showed activity on Sept. 5, there has been no communication from him with anyone since that time.

The FMBA reports that Russian law enforcement agencies have received a dossier alleging Trukhin’s involvement in fraud, which has been verified following corruption claims, RadarOnline.com reported.

Viktor Trukhin’s daughter, Sophie Trukhin, doubts that her father would willingly go missing.

Sophie said, "But this is not a fighter who gives up and can leave his homeland. The dismissal was so unexpected for his team that they recorded a huge video about how shocked they were and how good it was to work with him for these decades. My father is not the kind of person who disappears of his own free will."
