Las Vegas Police Arrest Suspect In Connection With 1980 Rape, Murder Of Mother Of 3-Year-Old Girl
A man is accused of raping and killing a mother inside her home in Nevada over forty years ago, according to authorities.
Paul Nuttall, 64, faces multiple charges in connection with the death of Sandra DiFelice, including murder with a deadly weapon, sexual assault, and robbery.
According to documents obtained by KLAS-TV, on Dec. 26, 1980, DiFelice, the mother of a 3-year-old daughter, was beaten, raped and murdered in her bedroom in Las Vegas.
The documents state Nuttall’s fingerprint was found on a drinking glass that had Kool-Aid in it in the living room.

DiFelice’s roommate at the time told investigators Nuttall, then 21, “asked if he could sleep in the house, as he had nowhere else to go” and the roommate “said she could not allow that because [DiFelice] was in the house and didn’t know him well,” the report states.
Last year, authorities took a DNA sample from Nuttall, which was a match to forensic evidence recovered from underneath the victim’s fingernails, KLAS-TV claimed.
At the time police took the DNA from Nuttall at his home, he told officer “he didn’t know who [the investigator] was talking about” when he asked him about DiFelice.
Nuttall was booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where he was being held without bail.
