A Michigan woman is accused of killing another woman who was in a shared relationship with another man.
Around 4 a.m. on June 6, the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office received a report about an assault from a male caller, CBS Detroit reported.
The man informed emergency dispatcher that the alleged assault occurred earlier that evening in Capac and that one of the two women involved wasn’t waking up following the incident, according to the station.
First responders found the 44-year-old victim still alive but unconscious, officials said.
She later died from severe head trauma injuries at an area hospital.
Following an investigation, authorities determined the victim and another woman, Raquelle Casillas, also 44, had been in a dayslong dispute stemming from a relationship they were both in with the man who had phoned police.
Casillas now faces a charge of open murder in connection with the woman’s death.
She was being held without bond atthe St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center.
