A road rage incident in California ended in a deadly shooting, as police say the suspect has now been arrested and charged with murder.
Around 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 6, police said an incident began on I-80, which is 10 miles away from where the shooting took place. Numerous 911 calls were made at that time.
The road rage continued onto I-5, which is when a man driving a maroon truck was shot, officials said.
The victim, later identified as 60-year-old Lufino Reyes Mejorado, was taken to a local hospital, where he died a short time later, authorities said.
KCRA 3 reported the victim was shot in the arm and was given CPR on scene.
At the time, police said they closed down I-5 at Interstate 80 so they could canvass the area where the shooting took place and it was closed for several hours.
Witnesses told police the suspect was driving a white Mercedes sedan and after an investigation, 33-year-old David Perry was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail.
