‘It’s Senseless’: D.C. Police Arrest Teenager Accused Of Killing Landscaper In Suspected Road Rage Incident
A teenager in Washington D.C. was taken into custody in connection with a deadly shooting earlier this summer authorities believe was related to a road rage incident.
Nelson Davis, 19, faces a charge of second-degree murder while armed in the death of 45-year-old Jason Ford, WJLA-TV reported.
Around 4:45 p.m. on June 25, police responded to the report of a man shot and found Ford, a landscaper and father of two, dead from his wounds.
“The guy shot was a driver of the landscaping truck and there was a gun introduced into the equation,” Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert Contee said.
According to WJLA-TV, the suspect was on a scooter.
The victim’s wife, Tonya, said her husband was working and “trying to take care of his family” when the incident occurred.
“Now he can no longer do that,” she said. “My thoughts are this: It should not have happened, really shouldn’t.”
She added, “It's senseless all the killings that are going on in the city. I don’t understand why people are killing each other like this. I just don’t understand.”
