Texas Man Accused Of Fatally Shooting Father In Front Of His Daughter In Suspected Road Rage Incident
A road rage incident turned deadly in Texas when a suspect shot a father in front of his daughter after the two men out of their vehicles during a dispute, authorities said.
Police in San Antonio arrested Joe Longoria, 20, on Dec. 29 and charged him with the murder of Ines Quiroga, 49.
According to cops, on Dec. 15, officers responded to a report of a shooting following an argument between the men.
The victim’s daughter told KSAT she and her father, Quiroga, were out running errands when they were blocked in their car by two other vehicles in the road.
Quiroga and Longoria, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, a Dodge Challenger, got into an argument and the two men exited their vehicles.
Police said Longoria allegedly pulled a gun as the dispute grew more heated and fatally shot the unarmed Quiroga.
While fleeing the scene in the Challenger, the vehicle lost a mirror after sideswiping the victim’s car, police said in an arrest affidavit obtained by KSAT, and detectives confirmed the vehicle was a Challenger from a serial number on the broken-off mirror.
According to police, Longoria was identified as a suspect in the case after investigators received a Crime Stoppers tip detailing his name, address and model of car he was a passenger in.
The affidavit states surveillance video allegedly shows Longoria arrived at a residence around two minutes following the deadly shooting and appeared to be hiding something from view as he ran inside the residence.
