A man has been arrested after he allegedly shot and killed a woman outside of a bar.
Recently, Aaron Jacob Gutierrez, 24, was taken into custody for the murder of 35-year-old Maria Gonzales, according to FOX 29.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. on Dec. 16 outside of The East Bar in San Antonio, Texas, FOX 29 reported.
When police arrived, they found Gonzales lying in the middle of the street, dead from a gunshot wound to the head, according to FOX 29.
According to police, on the night of the shooting, Gonzales and some of her friends had just left the bar and were blocking traffic, FOX 29 reported.
Witnesses told police that a white, 4-door sedan was stopped in the street, blocked by the victim and her friends, and the driver honked several times, according to FOX 29.
Video surveillance confirmed that after the sedan drove away, shots were fired from the vehicle, and one of the bullets hit and killed Gonzales, FOX 29 reported.
Gutierrez was arrested on Jan. 18 for narcotics and weapons charges when he admitted to police he was the driver of the sedan involved in the shooting, according to FOX 29.
A search warrant obtained for Gutierrez’s phone found communication with another suspect about the murder, FOX 29 reported.
The person sent a screenshot of a news article about the shooting and told Gutierrez, “they have nothing to go on as evidence, you’re good,” according to FOX 29.
Gutierrez was charged with murder, FOX 29 reported.
