Shooting Along South Carolina Highway Leaves 1 Dead, Others Hurt: Sheriff

One person was killed in a shooting on a South Carolina highway. Weeks later, police say they arrested a suspect.
On Oct. 10, the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Kelvin Daniel Montgomery Jr., 24. He faces a host of charges including murder and four counts of attempted murder.
cOn Sept. 17, deputies responded to Manning Highway for a reported shooting.
When officers arrived, they found several gunshot victims inside a vehicle. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not release the victim’s name.
The other injured people were taken to a hospital and treated.
Investigators said the victims were driving on the highway when Montgomery passed them and then started shooting into their vehicle. A motive was not released in the case.
Montgomery is being held in jail without bond.
