76-Year-Old Man Killed, His Daughter Injured In Shooting At South Carolina Home
A 76-year-old man was shot and killed at his South Carolina home and his daughter was wounded. Now, police say the man responsible is behind bars.
Last week, the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina responded to a report of a wounded man near the home. When deputies arrived, they found James Lewis, 76, with a bullet wound to the chest.
He was taken to the hospital.
Deputies entered a gated area and saw the sliding glass door to a home had been shattered. Inside, they found James Thomas, 76, and Christine Thomas, 47, injured in separate rooms. Both had been shot.
James Thomas was pronounced dead, and Christine Thomas was taken to the hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.
Lewis was booked into jail this week after being released from the hospital. He was charged with murder, attempted murder, first-degree burglary and domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
Police did not say how Lewis suffered his gunshot wound.
