More than a week after a person was shot dead on Halloween weekend, police said they arrested a suspect.
Around 4 a.m. on Oct. 30, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina responded to a shooting on Second Neck Road.
Deputies learned the incident started with an argument at a bar where shots were fired as patrons left the bar, according to the sheriff’s office.
A victim, 45-year-old Charles McKenzie Jr., was then found shot in his vehicle, authorities said. He later died from his injuries.
Investigators determined that the victim was shot multiple times as he drove along the road. Police identified Griffin Austin Fenters as the suspect.
He was arrested and charged with murder and other counts.
